    Social Networking  101 – wellness36 Style

I am simply amazed by the number of new members every day both joining the wellness360 Community and more importantly, taking advantage of our suite of free services:

    • Diet diary
    • Exercise Diary
    • Health Risk Analysis
    • Personal Health Record
    • Long-term Paper Medical Records Storage, and
    • er360 – wellness360’s free “Emergency Medical Record”

The flood of comments and encouragement are greatly appreciated.  This evening, however, I wanted to take a moment to stress the importance of the wellness360 Community Social Network.

Today, people across the globe are demonstrating the desire to expand their social connections through the growing options of online social network.  I certainly applaud every vendor of these services.  However, I feel compelled to ensure that each of our existing members and future members understand that not only is wellness360 Community a network for social interaction, it is a vehicle that enables you do so based on an amazing collection of characteristics.

Unlike other networks that attempt to derive relationships by prying into your writings and the music you enjoy, wellness360 Community allows connections to be made based on detailed, YET PRIVIATE, medical, diet, exercise and family information that makes up your wellness360 Personal Health Record.  As I mentioned, this information is kept private and we guarantee it with our $1 Million guarantee.

So, what’s the value of the wellness360 Community?  The answer is simple.  You will be allowed to define the types of individuals with whom you desire to establish a connection literally based on an infinite number of personal data and characteristics contained within an individual’s personal profile and personal Health Record.  PLEASE REMEMBER, ALL PERSONAL INFORMATION IS KEPT PRIVATE AND SECURE UNLESS YOU CHOOSE TO SHARE IT.

Let’s look at a simple example.
    Assumptions:
For the sake of this example, let's assume that you are (1) a female, (2) over 45 that is diabetic, (3) 50 pounds overweight, (4) have children under the age of 15, (5) work a full-time job, and (6) live in Costa Mesa California

Your Objectives: Your goal is to find a group of woman that are similar to you so that you can develop an exercise support group of women that share common challenges, and even need to solve a child-care problem to enable all of you the time to exercise and support one another with your medical and dietary issues.  Additionally, you would like to interact with these people online to discuss challenges, physicians and even just build friendships.  Oh, and you want them to be no more than 10 miles away for convenience.

The Solution: wellness360 Community enables you to define this group of people and at your discretion, make not just online connections but possibly “real-world” friendships to help each other.  I assure you, to develop this level of networking on myspace.com, facebook.com, and linkedin.com would not be easy.  But, with wellness360 Community it is part of our fundamental design.

The Bonus: Oh, least we forget, that as a part of wellness360, you are paid for developing and maintaining your social network.  Additionally, your friends that view your pages and read your blogs also enjoy the wellness360 cash rewards.

Please don't forget, a great benefit of wellness360 is our "Invite a Friend" program.  For each friend you invite that joins wellness360 you share in the money they earn – TOTALLY RISK FREE!  To earn money as a wellness360 member you never have to pay one penny or purchase any products.  Our advertisers happily carry this burden to enable you to have the best experience possible and encourage you to be healthy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this evenings thoughts and l hope you ook for my next entry:

  •  Understanding wellness360 by: wellness360_ceo

Introduction to wellness360 and Aperture Health, Inc.

I am Thomas Banks, the CEO and founder of Aperture Health. I am honored that you have chosen to join us here at wellness360 Community and more specifically, my inaugural blog.

Many people I speak with have a number of questions regarding the wellness360 business model. Please allow me the opportunity to explain our business model:

Where do we get the money to pay our members? This is the most common question I receive. The answer is incredibly simple – our advertisers. Unlike most Internet business models, we share a portion of our on-line revenue with our members. Based on the income we enjoy from a page view caused by a specific member’s use of wellness360, we pay that member 33% of the gross income.   This revenue sharing concept is fundamental to our business plan and is unique among health and wellness sites.

Invite a Friend? This is one of wellness360’s most exciting components. First, it is the initial link for developing your social network. More importantly, it creates a “No Obligation” income stream where the member earns a 25% bonus for every dollar earned by their friends.

What about privacy? Unlike most web sites that provide storage and retrieval of an individual’s personal health record (“PHR”) we are voluntarily HIPAA compliant. Further ensuring privacy, as a California based company we are governed by Statute 56 of California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (“COMIA”) which exposes Aperture Health and its management to sever civil and criminal penalties for any violation.

What is the Million Dollar Guarantee? We guarantee every member up to $1 million in the event that we or our technology exposes their medical information to any third-party. This guarantee is not just a promise, but backed by a $1 million insurance policy.

What services are provided by wellness360.com? Aperture Health’s wellness360 service incorporates a great number of services typically enjoyed from a number of websites for which the user is charged a monthly fee. All wellness360 services are provided “Free of Charge.”   Members are not charged to use the services, nor is there any upgrade or premium option available to our members. All the services are free. The services available to our members include:
    • Personal Health Record: a comprehensive personal medical record which allows a member to track relevant data such as blood cholesterol, blood glucose as well as historical and family specific medical information.
    • Health Risk Assessment: We at Aperture Health believe that members should not simply jump into a wellness strategy without information. Toward this end, each member is encouraged to take a simple 40 question Health Risk Assessment evaluating medical, social, lifestyle and genetic risks they face. In turn, members are encouraged to consult with their healthcare professional to plan a viable strategy toward a healthy and enjoyable future.
    • Diet: wellness360 includes a comprehensive diet management and journaling system enabling a member to easily employ and track his or her diet activities.
    • Fitness: Like diet, members may avail themselves of the wellness360 fitness service allowing easy tracking and planning of a member’s fitness activities and strategy. The results of diet and fitness are integrated providing members net calorie intake based on intake and exercise.
    • Emergency Medical Record: One of the most valuable features of wellness360 is the Emergency Medical Record (“EMR”). wellness360’s EMR is an on-demand abbreviated medical record made available to Emergency Rooms. The record can be accessed online or via the wellness360 Interactive Voice Response system from an ambulance via cell phone. Aperture Health has a validated database of every emergency room in the US. As such, only valid hospitals may receive the faxed report ensuring privacy.
    • Medical News and Research: One of the most sought after information on the Internet is medical and health information. wellness360 incorporates current news feeds, and one of the most comprehensive health databases available for its members benefit.
    • Paper Medical Records Storage: In addition to dynamic medical and health information, a member may store his or her paper documents free of charge. At anytime, a member may initiate a “Medical Records” request from wellness360 and enable their doctor to fax in the member’s records. Or, the records may be uploaded directly by the member. This feature is provided as a public service for everyone should keep their paper medical records in their possession.
    • Social Network: The social networking concept is certainly in vogue for 2008 and very likely beyond. The wellness360 social network strategy is more than just personal pages, it is designed to provide anonymous conduits to members with similar profiles – diet activity, fitness activities, medications, diseases, health risks, genetic propensities, etc.. With this unique mechanism for connectivity, members will be able to create an infinite number of possible channels specific to their unique needs.
More than an Internet business model: Aperture Health’s wellness360 strategy is more than an Internet model. Fundamentally, wellness360 is a distribution model as demonstrated by our very respectable list of insurance agencies and strategic partners that make wellness360 available to the business community and the general public. Of note is the growing list of hospitals throughout California (and growing nationally) that not only make wellness360 available to their employees but also to their patients. Most recently, Word & Brown, the largest general insurance agency in California with 20,000 independent agents, announced wellness360 as their wellness cornerstone for their agents and their new Benesaver™ benefits enhancement program.

Finally, yes, we are a public company listed on the OTCBB.  More importantly, we are fully reporting and compliant with a commitment to maximizing investor knowledge.  I encourage every member and potential investor in Aperture Health (OTCBB: APRE) to not just read our "10Ks" and "10Qs" but to become a member of wellness360.com.  In this complicated economy, one cannot be too informed.  As such, being an active member will provide the investor the best vantage point for understanding the value of Aperture Health's services.

Thank you again for your interest in Aperture Health and our wellness360 suite of services. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact cindy.wells@wellness360.com and my team will be happy to make your wellness360 experience enjoyable, effective and even profitable.

    Best Regards,
    Aperture Health, Inc. (OTCBB: APRE)

  •  Still not quite exercising by: horsesrule

    11/20/2008 6:21:13 PM

Well my last blog asked for ideas on exercising when I have trouble just standing, let alone walking.  Ok, since then I had my first fall, just fell right over onto the concrete porch so, since then, I've been too intimidated to exercise.  I didn't get hurt, just wrenched my ankle and got some bumps and bruises.  The worst thing that happened is the blow to my, not sure how to phrase this, my ooph or the blow to my desire to exercise.  Falling has always scared me, I weigh a lot and any falls mean really big pain generally so I try not to fall as much as possible.  I'm not even entirely sure how I fell.  I dont' know if I tripped or if my ankle/leg gave out on me.  So now I have to work on getting brave enough to try exercising again.  I was trying the walking thing, short distances, sit, rest, short distance, sit, rest, etc.  I felt pretty good about it but, well, now I'm not doing that.   So, here I am searching for my courage like the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz.

  •  Food For Thought: A Lifestyle Diet That Makes Sense by: vfortanasce

    11/12/2008 10:21:49 AM

Did you telephone your mother today only for her to say, “Why haven’t you called all week?” -- when you just contacted her that morning? Have you seen a favorite relative at a wedding who did not recognize you? What about yourself? Are you losing your keys, forgetting friend’s names, or exiting the mall only to discover that you have no idea what door you came in let alone where you left your car? Could these behaviors be Alzheimer’s disease?

According to the American Alzheimer’s Association, more than five million people in the United States have Alzheimer’s disease. The incidence of Alzheimer’s disease doubles every three years after sixty and then quadruples when one hits seventy-three. By eighty-five, approximately 47% of the older population has been affected. With over three hundred and eighty thousand new cases diagnosed ever year it seems that we are going into a pandemic. What is the reason? If one understands that the population of those people 80 and over is increasing sixteen times the birth rate and that life expectancy has increased, one understands the reason for this epidemic – age. In the rush to extend life expectancy, are we into a fate worse than death.

There is a difference between success and happiness. Success is obtaining what we want. In this case life expectancy. Happiness is appreciating what we have obtained, or a life worth living.  Those with Alzheimer’s disease are trapped with no way to control or maintain their memory, the essence of who they are. It is estimated that after an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, those people with Alzheimer’s live from five to twenty years with an average of 8.2 years longer. Additionally, 50% of this population is dependant and within a two year period, unable to live alone. In visiting a convalescent home, you know these are not the “Golden Years.” Growing old is really not for the weak of heart!

The bad news is if we do nothing to save our brain or protect our body, we will lose 20% of our brain volume from 50 to 80 years of age, 30% of our strength fibers, and 50% of our brain’s agility (multi-tasking). I could go on!

The good news is we can stop and even reverse this deterioration. The four-step D.E.A.R. method presented my book, The Anti-Alzheimer’s Prescription, gives a simple solution: lifestyle. I show that changing one’s diet, adding exercise, accentuating your brain’s reserve through mental games and tasks and rest and mediation techniques are all that’s needed to produce a healthy brain and body.

Essential to making these lifestyle changes is willpower! Strong willpower comes from maintaining one’s dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain. Sufficient neurotransmitter levels are achieved by getting enough sleep and controlling stress. Both can be best accomplished with prayer, meditation, and socialization (being involved with family, friends, and community).

For further information, tips and to learn how to keep a positive attitude by turning on the optimistic center of the brain read The Anti-Alzheimer’s Prescription, a top-seller on #1 seller on Amazon.com or visit www.anti-alzheimer’s.com.

  •  Tijuana, Cell Phone Signals & Finding Your Voice=^..^= by: Catwoman=^..^=

    11/12/2008 6:59:44 AM

    Dear Diary,

Has anyone heard of Paltalk? It's an online chat place with hundreds of rooms. I'm not one for chat per se, but, I like these rooms because you can use a microphone in most of them and actually talk with everyone. I've joined a few rooms for mentally disabled and I find that I've been playing the roll of encourager and helping people find resources in their state. I'm so glad I can help people in some way. Right now I'm encouraging this young man to start speaking up and asking questions to get things done for him in his life. I'm trying impress upon him the importance of being assertive and aggresive, especially being disabled, because in today's society when you are disabled you are pretty much invisible and the only way to get things done and start the ball rolling is by speaking up and making yourself heard. I told him that he will eventually find his voice and use it when he sees how bad things are getting for him. It's that way with everyone, though. When you are finally sick and tired of being sick and tired that's when most people start getting more proactive.
I have a tentative appt with the vet tomorrow (Thursday) at 9:30 am. When Rachel, my housekeeper, comes by today at 1pm I'll ask her if that's a good time for her and if it is......................
Right now Rachel is living in Tijuana. Their family has a house down there. The only problem is I can't reach her by cell phone in Tijuana. So she gave me her husband's number. I don't know why his # would work and not hers. As it stands now I can leave messages on her cell phone, but, the only way she can retrieve them is when she drives near the border to get a signal. It's so crazy right now. If she had a computer we could at least e-mail or IM each other. Tijuana is only 40 minutes away, so, it's not that much of a commute. Well, if I'm going to the vet tomorrow I need to either shampoo my hair or at the very least comb it. I'm so bad about that.
Have a great day everyone and an even better one tomorrow!
    Purrs,
    Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

  •  Staying Healthy Over The Holiday Season by: marieannick

    11/5/2008 9:34:40 AM

Staying fit over the holiday season is a challenge for most of us. Our routine is generally disturbed and keeping up with our healthy goals very much challenged.

From Thanksgiving to January, many of us run marathons from one party to another. Unfortunately, that type of exercise is not the kind that helps us stay fit. Family meals, office parties, buffets and, cocktails parties are generally associated with an abundance of rich fatty sugary foods and not to forget, alcohol. We also run from one shopping center to another and too often grab a quick bite in the car after driving through the fast food joint. Needless to say, it is not a good healthy habit. So what are the consequences to all of this? Losing track of our dietary needs and exercise schedule can only lead most of us with a bigger waistline by January. How can we avoid such problem?
We all know that the holiday season is not a good time to start a diet or change our lifestyle. So, let’s forget about that for now and get back to those thoughts in January. On the other hand, we cannot just give ourselves “carte blanche” to indulge like we will never have another time like that ever again. We must continue to control, as much as possible, our lifestyle and our healthy eating habits through the holiday season. We also need to acknowledge that allowing ourselves to enjoy the season, our family, our friends, and many parties is indispensable to our mental health. Therefore we need to be a little more lenient with ourselves around that time of year. All we can do is our best and knowing that we did that will make the holiday season even more pleasure full. Now that we establish that very important point, let us consider some healthy suggestions to help us getting through this holiday season without too much damage.
First, we must make an agreement with ourselves:

    • To eat less than we want too without depriving ourselves from holiday pleasures.
    • To keep up with an exercise routine as much as possible
    • To carefully choose our foods and drinks through the holiday season

Second, we must keep in mind some simple rules:

    • While shopping just stop and sit down for twenty minutes and enjoy a small salad or half a sandwich with a soup and a small bottle of water. During that time you can collect yourself and strategies your next shopping plan of attack.

    • Continue and if possible, even increase exercise time to make up for those extra calories you will eat. Great time to have outdoors activities with families and friends. If you have the chance to live in cold area that has snow; build a snowman, ski, ice skate, have snowballs fights, etc. If you live in a warm climate, go on a hike, ride a bike, organize a baseball or soccer game, play tennis, go to the beach for a stroll or swim.
    • Weigh yourself every morning, particularly to see if you are gaining weight. If you do, take immediate measures to lose it. Exercise and/or eat less, giving preferences to salads and light meals for the next couple of days. Some people may find helpful to keep a journal, if that works for you, do so.

    • Before attending any social event, consider to eat a small snack such as a fruit bowl, a small salad made with vegetables, or a healthy smoothie. This will cut down your appetite considerably and make up for the lack of vegetables and fruits (fibers) usually lacking around holiday goodies.
    • Keep drinking lots of water throughout the day. It will help eliminate and to avoid eating and drinking too much.
    • Go easy on alcohol and never drink on an empty stomach. Choose wine or beer over hard liquors. Try to stay away from mixed drinks; they are often loaded of calories due to high sugars in the mixes used to make them. Drink a glass of water before you start drinking alcohol. Sip on one glass of wine for a long time, don’t just gobble up. Limit yourself to one or two drinks per event. Once you reach the limit, drink water or unsweetened sparkling water.
    • Choose the healthiest possible types of food such as salads (with little dressing), grilled fish and white meat, steamed vegetables, fruits or vegetables with dip, whole wheat bread instead of crackers with a small amount of cheese or spreads, nuts (walnut, pistachio, and cashew), seafood (a couple of shrimp with cocktail sauce), and low sugar/fat style foods. If you must have that real rich creamy dish that you love so much, just take half of what you would normally do and add steamed vegetables and greens.
    • Pleasure yourself by choosing something that you will really enjoy and that stimulate your taste buds while offering exquisite flavors. If you know it is not your best healthy choice, just take a smaller amount and savor every bite of it. If you can’t resist those delicious little cakes that are calling for you, have one but not three or four. Ok, I admit, this is where my weakness is. So I am going to give you my secret to overcome such problem. Generally, I limit myself to three or four things. Yes I know, I just told you not to do that, but you will understand soon how this can work. I take one or two small bit of each savoring slowly before swallowing in order to get the full flavor and texture. Very satisfying experience and not so calorific (equivalent to one dessert), but you must have a strong will to stay under control. If you know you can’t control yourself, then just choose your very favorite dessert or one you never tried to experience something new.
    • Do not stand next to the buffet table; this is too much temptation. Try to make no more than two trips to the buffet, one for appetizer/entrée and one for dessert. Even better, avoid dessert once in awhile, particularly if you see nothing really tempting or go for a fruit.
    • Use a smaller plate (if available) rather than a large plate. Do not pile the food on the plate. Take half the amount you thing you want. Be reasonable and think if you really need to eat what you are about to take. I cannot emphasize enough portion control!
Focus on the people rather than the food. It is a great time to mingle, catch on with old friends, relatives, co-workers or even make new friends.

In conclusion, I will say this. Enjoying life’s pleasures with control is one of the key to well-being and happiness. So remember: moderation, moderation, moderation. If you do, your first year resolution won’t be losing the extra weight you gained over the holiday season. I will finish with a quotation from one of my favorite writer Mark Twain:
A human being has a natural desire to have more of a good thing than he needs.
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

  •  Juicy Pork Chops & Missing Bonnie=^..^= by: Catwoman=^..^=

    11/5/2008 3:55:32 AM

    Dear Diary,

I finally got up at 4pm today and made dinner. What I did was put a little oil in a pan, put in two medium sized pork chops, seasoned both sides with salt, put it on simmer and put the lid on it. I let each side simmer for about 20 minutes. Then I diced up a tomato and added the tomato for the last 10 minutes with the pork chops. This is so good because the pork chops come out so tender and juicy just like steak and the tomatoes were a nice touch too. I kind of played it by ear this time with the tomatoes. Try it sometime. The pork chops really do come out like steaks. I'm not kidding! My housekeeper said that's how she does her pork chops. Delish!!
I popped over to the MSN group and left Bonnie a message about the possibility of creating another account altogether. Maybe that would help. I don't know. I sure do miss her, though, and I hope she gets the problem fixed very soon. Hurry Bonnie! We miss you!
Yuku is such a lovely site. I really enjoy coming into the group because of it. There are so many advantages to it that MSN doesn't have. So far three of my other MSN groups are going to Yuku also and I'm so excited about that! Some of my MSN groups have gone to Multiply. Multiply is so stark and ugly. The homepage looks so generic and plain. It has no personality at all. I don't know what these people are thinking. Even though I also joined Multiply I don't think I'll make a habit of visiting those MSN groups that went with Multiply. There is no way you can link to Photobucket at all, at least that I can see. I feel so bad about that because there were a lot of great groups that I belonged to that now use Multiply. Then I got to thinking that there will be a lot of PSP groups that are in Yuku as well, so, all is not lost.

  •  Daylight Savings Time Ends by: katlnhat

    11/1/2008 7:09:19 PM

    Hi,

Don't forget to turn the clocks back an hour, as daylight savings time ends. This is a part of the year that I don't look forward to and I sure wish we could stay on it for the entire year.

Our cats DO however, stay on daylight savings time, no idea why, but they still want to be fed at the time they're used to, which is 5am daylight savings time, so I ought to be woken up at 4am this morning by one or another of them, wanting to know where their food is! Ack.

I wish the time would stay the the hour ahead as it's already getting dark in the early evening and this makes it that much earlier. Days are shorter, nights are longer, seems like we ought to enjoy the daylight as late as we can, doesn't it?

Maybe there's a reason for turning the clocks back, (or turning them ahead in the first place), but I don't know what it is. If anyone does, please tell me.

Marilyn - sad to see daylight savings time go...
